DALLAS (AP) — Former President George W. Bush may once have been commander in chief but that apparently didn't help him Wednesday when he showed up for jury duty at a Dallas courthouse Wednesday.

The 43rd president was not chosen for a jury but did have his picture taken with people before leaving after a few hours.

Bush spokesman Freddy Ford confirmed Bush's appearance to The Dallas Morning News.

One of the jurors, Sheri Coleman, told the paper that Bush was "very personable, very friendly."

He was whisked away by Secret Service agents after not being chosen for the jury panel.
