WSVN — It’s time to leave the concrete jungle and get out into nature, and one new company is bringing a little luxury to the Everglades. 7’s Belkys Nerey takes us for a walk and ride on the wild side in tonight’s Style File.
It’s no secret, the beauty of the Everglades is breathtaking.
And if you haven’t experienced it lately, ‘Everglades Nature Tours’ wants to give you a cushy way to soak it all in.
Ozzie Gonzalez: “This airboat ride is very, very different. We offer more of a luxury tour, a private tour, up to seven people. When you ride on this boat, you don’t have to wear headphones. Our boat is very quiet.”
During the ride, you can sip on wine, beer or soda and it’s not just a boat ride, they’ll stop on islands for some quick exploration.
Ozzie Gonzalez: “We give a demo on how the Native Americans used to live, how they climbed up on these islands. By the name of the swamp Lily.”
You’ll also learn about what’s living in the glades; wild flowers, unique birds, and of course, the gators.
Darcy Conner: “This is an actual eco tou. You’re getting up close and personal with the environment. We’ve seen alligators, very up close and personal right now.”
Their pick? A private, romantic sunset tour.
Ozzie Gonzalez: “We offer you wine, cheese. We play a little music, so it can be very romantic.”
If you’re really adventurous, book one of ENT’s swamp walks.
Raul Santovenia: “We’re going to walk a game trail. It’s not made by humans, it’s actually made by animals.”
You’ll trek through knee-high swamp water, into the canopy of the Everglades and you never know what you’ll see.
Raul Santovenia: “Snakes, turtles, different flowers, vegetation. Mostly deers, the occasional bear.”
what was that? Nothing?
Yes, your heart will be beating fast but their tour guides are true gladesmen-hunters.
Raul Santovenia: “The animals are probably more scared of you than you are of them.”
So once you’re inside the canopy, look around and soak in this natural wonder.
Ann McCann: “It was absolutely beautiful. I’m just awestruck by the beauty, the plant life, even underwater. There were beautiful plants.”
Casey Watkins: “The way you can see light coming through tree canopies makes for great pictures.”
‘ENT’ also offers swamp buggy tours.
