DORAL, Fla. (WSVN) — Authorities were on the scene of a bank robbery in Doral, where a package was left behind, Thursday.

According to the Doral Police Department, a man walked into the Chase bank branch at 9785 N.W. 41st St., and an alert bank teller hit the panic button.

Officers quickly responded and chased the man on foot through the parking lot. He is now in police custody.

When in custody, the suspect told authorities the package contained a bomb.

As a precaution authorities shut down 41st Street and 97th Avenue. Since then the roadways have been reopened. 

Miami-Dade bomb squad was on the scene and the FBI has been notified.

The bank has been opened and patrons let inside.
