MIAMI (WSVN) — The U.S. Coast Guard has suspended its search for a Texas man who fell from a cruise ship off the coast of Key Largo.
Sunday’s announcement came nearly 48 hours after, officials said, 46-year-old David Mossman fell from the 10th deck of the Navigator of the Seas, late Friday night. Officials said the passenger fell nearly 100 feet from the 10th deck of the Royal Caribbean cruise ship into the water 36 nautical miles south of Carysfort Reef Light.
In a news release, Coast Guard officials said search-and-rescue crews used a helicopter and a plane in a search that spanned 2,583 square nautical miles.
