MIAMI — Chipotle will close all of their stores for a few hours on Feb. 8 for a company-wide meeting, according to Oregon Live.
The company is scheduled to hold a meeting that will involve all staff to discuss food safety.
"We want to thank our teams for all of their hard work, to discuss some of the changes we are making to enhance food safety, to talk about the restaurants role in all of that and to answer questions from employees," Chris Arnold, the company’s spokesman, told Oregon Live in an email.
Sales have slipped 30% in December ever since numerous cases of E. coli, norovirus and salmonella broke out in 2015. The company, which has more than 1,900 locations, announced that they have already made many changes to tighten its food safety.
Executives believe the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will soon declare the E. coli outbreak to be over. It’s unclear what ingredient started the outbreak.
