OVERTOWN, Fla. (WSVN) — Children at Alonzo Mourning’s Overtown Youth Center have been practicing all summer for a big performance.

It’s their first annual fundraiser and musical show entitled “Welcome to Hollywood.”

About 100 inner city kids will be singing and dancing in the show Aug. 3, at 6 p.m., at the Joseph Caleb Center.

“We’re talking about live entertainment, live music, here at Overtown Center,” TK Pratt, coordinator at the Overtown Youth Center said. “We’re teaching our children real instruments, all kinds of dance, putting on a show for family, friends, for community leaders, and when they come out, they’re going to get a great, great show.”

All proceeds will benefit the performing arts program at the center.
