ATLANTA (WSVN) — Chick-fil-A may have found a solution for families to get off their phones while eating.
Select Chick-fil-A restaurants have launched a new initiative called the "family challenge," which encourages families to put their phone on silent and then place it away inside a cardboard box. Families would then enjoy their meal distraction free. Once you’re done with your meal, everyone who participated will get a free ice-cream cone.
A Chick-fil-A spokesperson told Fox 5 in Atlanta that the concept began at an Atlanta location and a few other restaurants have started similar events.
It’s unclear if any South Florida restaurants have begun this initiative yet. Chick-fil-A does not have a list of restaurants participating because it began at a local level.
The challenge helps promote a distraction free meal and encourages family time with face-to-face interaction.
