(WSVN) — The Chief Executive Officer of AMC Entertainment is open to allowing texting in some movie theaters, according to an interview with Variety.

"When you tell a 22-year-old to turn off the phone, don’t ruin the movie, they hear please cut off your left arm above the elbow. You can’t tell a 22-year-old to turn off their cellphone. That’s not how they live their life," CEO Adam Aron told Variety.

Aron made it clear that he wants to figure out a way to allow this without disturbing the rest of the audience.

"There’s a reason there are ads up there saying turn off your phone, because today’s moviegoer doesn’t want somebody sitting next to them texting or having their phone on," Aron said.

The CEO is exploring the possibility of adding specific auditoriums that would allow you to use your phone during a movie.

Aron joined AMC Entertainment as CEO in early December.
