DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) — Authorities are seeking the public’s help in finding four young men who, they said, stole hundreds of dollars in coins from a Deerfield Beach home and then tried to exchange them for cash at a nearby supermarket.

Surveillance video at the Winn-Dixie, at 1019 S. Federal Highway, shows the burglars huddled around a Coinstar kiosk. According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the men used the machine to cash in a haul of $377.77 in coins, April 15.

Earlier that morning, investigators said, the men broke into a home located about a mile away from the supermarket, in the area of Southwest 14th Street and First Avenue. In addition to the coins, detectives said, the men stole a Winchester 1500 XTR shotgun, a pellet gun, two iPads and wedding bands.

Detectives believe the suspects are in their late teens or early 20s and were driving a copper-colored four-door hatchback.

If you have any information on their whereabouts, call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a $3,000 reward.
