BOSTON, Ma. (WSVN) — A Boston Marathon Bombing survivor is taking on a new mission.

Adrianne Haslet lost a leg in the bombing and now she’s ready to reclaim the finish line.

She will also be raising money for an organization all too close to her. Her motivation is running for those who can’t. "This is a way for me to give back, not only to physically run the Marathon, to say a giant thank you to everybody," she said. "But also to remember those who are sitting on the couch, who don’t have legs because of insurance coverage, who are on the waiting list for limbs for life."

Adrianne will be the first surviving amputees to run the 2016 marathon.
