BOSTON (WHDH) — Two students have been killed in a car crash overseas, including a survivor of the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013, according to Northeastern University.
"Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Victoria McGrath and Priscilla Perez Torres in this extremely difficult time," the university said in a statement.
McGrath was injured in the bombing and was treated at Tufts Medical Center. She enlisted the help of many people, including then-Massachusetts Governor Patrick Deval, to help locate those who had helped rescue her. In August, she was reunited with the firefighter who carried her from the scene in an photo that quickly became an iconic image of the tragic day.
Our hearts ache for the family & friends of our former patient Victoria McGrath. She made a lasting impact on those who knew her.
