WSVN — A South Florida chef shows you how to keep garlic fresh and recipe-ready.
Storing fresh garlic is easy. Downtown Bistro’s Chef Johana Faraldo says to smash and then chop a handful of garlic cloves.
Chef Johana Faraldo, Downtown Bistro: "You keep it, like, a week and a half, you can have it in your fridge."
Put the garlic in a container.
Chef Johana Faraldo: "We just add cold water — it has to cover the garlic — and a little drab of olive oil. And that’s all.
Mix well, cover and refrigerate. You’ll have fresh garlic for 10 days!
Chef Johana Faraldo: "Good!"
Buon appetito!
