WSVN — It takes more than a beautiful view to make a great space. On tonight’s Room for Improvement, our makeover maestro is putting the finishing touches on a beautiful bayfront bedroom.
Martin Amado: “On today’s Room for Improvement, I get to call this place my office. Not too shabby, huh? You see, I get to enjoy this gorgeous view as I’m working on the master bedroom, because it needs my help. Let’s go meet the homeowner.”
Martin Amado: “So, I love your home, amazing views over the water, but you’re not too happy with the way your room looks right now, correct?”
Veronica: “Correct. We’ve been remodeling for a while and trying to get the house, get its great appeal, but the master is missing personality.”
Martin Amado: “I’m going to make it happen for you, and we’ll surprise you at the end.”
Martin Amado: “The first thing we need to tackle is light control and privacy. Veronica added these panels here, but you can tell that they’re way too short. Plus these, in comparison, are completely naked.”
Martin Amado:: “We want to make all of the windows work with a cohesive design.”
Martin Amado: “Even though we already have beautiful curtains, the bamboo blinds give us another layer of darkness in the space; plus, I love the contrast of textures.”
Martin Amado: “Nice lamp, but it does nothing for the space. Now, this one screams more style!”
Martin Amado: “So, I did a combination of picture ledges and deeper shelves to not only add photo frames, but also decorative accessories.”
Martin Amado: “I love this headboard, but the space above it kind of bothers me, so the solution is to install three mirrors right across, giving it the height that it needs.”
Martin Amado: “I love the idea of a bench here underneath the window, but this one is a bit too casual. I have something way better.”
Martin Amado: “Final touch! Let’s go get Veronica.”
Martin Amado: “Here we go! One, two, two and a half, three! OK, open your eyes!”
Vanessa: “Beautiful! Beautiful! Brilliant, Martin! Thank you!”
Martin Amado: “Well, enjoy! Thank you for letting us do this for you one more time! To all the viewers at home, we thank you for watching, and we’ll see you next time on another Room for Improvement.”
