BAL HARBOUR, Fla. (WSVN) — Bal Harbor Shops and the Miami Project celebrated their anniversaries with a fashion event, Saturday night.

Destination Fashion 2016 was the event celebrating Bal Harbour’s 50th anniversary and The Miami Project’s 30th anniversary.

The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis hosted the event along with NBC Today’s Savannah Gurthie as emcee.

The event raises awareness and funds through auctions and donations with a star studded guest list including Gloria and Emilio Estefan. "When I spend the time with Gloria when she was almost paralyzed, I learned a lot of things about how difficult it was for a family and how much problems you bring to the family, Emilio Estefan said. "To be able to go to a place and get some help is fantastic."

"The goal is to allow us to continue our research," said Marc Buoniconti. "We are now for the first time ever, transplanting cells into people who are paralyzed. Years ago, that was unheard of."

The show also had a musical performance by rapper Pitbull.
