(WSVN) —  AMC Entertainment is making it clear that there will not be texting allowed in theaters, after the company’s CEO said in a report that he was open to allowing it in some theaters.

"Unlike the many AMC advancements that you have applauded, we have heard loud and clear that this is a concept our audience does not want," Adam Aron, AMC Entertainment CEO said in a statement.

The company said they will be investing $1 billion on enhancing the movie theater experience for viewers.

"When the lights dim, we’ll remember your advice that your fellow moviegoers should turn off their phones," he added.
