MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (WSVN) — Two men have been transported to the hospital after being shot during a home invasion in Miami Gardens, Friday afternoon.
Police said the shooting occurred inside a home in the area of Northwest 50th Avenue and 170th Street.
According to neighbors and family members, the victims were working on a Ford Mustang outside in the driveway of a home. They were then approached by at least one gunman who forced them inside the home. Investigators said the gunman fired at least six rounds, striking one man in the arm and the other in the leg.
One person has been airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital, while the second victim was taken to Aventura Hospital.
The victim’s cousin said they are expected to be OK. “They were right here in the yard, [working] on the car and the guys come up to rob them,” said Vivian Warren. “They made them go in the house, go in the house, to make them give them items. Other than that, they alright.”
