MIAMI (WSVN) — Police are searching for the person or people responsible for a shooting in Miami that claimed the life of one person and sent two others to the hospital, Thursday night. 

According to Miami Police, the three victims were shot near Northwest 21st Avenue and 19th Terrace, at the Gwen Cherry housing complex in Miami’s Allapattah neighborhood, at around 9 p.m. 

Officers set up a perimeter as they searched for clues. Police said more than 100 rounds were fired.

"I’m just trying to make sure that my kids are safe," an area resident is heard as crime scene investigators combed the area.

7News cameras captured a while Dodge Avenger with a large bullet hole in its driver’s side window.

Police said two of the victims were shot in the lower extremities, and one was shot in the chest. 

Fire Rescue transported one of the victims to Jackson Memorial Hospital and the others were transported via private vehicles. Detectives later confirmed one of the victims, a male between 25 and 26 years old, died from his injuries.
