(WSVN) - They call him “The Sneaker Don.” He’s only 16-years-old and has turned his love of shoes into a cash-flowing business.
The teen is from Miami and goes by the name “The Sneaker Don, Benjamin Kickz.”
In just a few short years, he’s turned his love of shoes into a big business. Multiple celebrities have done business with him, including DJ Khaled, Chris Brown, Fat Joe, French Montana and even Drake!
“Ben, how’s business?” DJ Khaled frequently says in his Snapchats.
“Boomin!” – Ben responds.
Benjamin told Deco Drive that his business started off as a hobby when he sold his first shoe.
“LeBron 9 Galaxies. My mom actually got me those, so I ended up selling one of those to some kid for almost double,” Benjamin told Deco Drive.
Now he sells to sneakerheads all around the world.
“How many sneakers are in your inventory right now?”
“It ranges between 4,000 and 5,000,” he said.
“So if you’ve got 4,000 to 5,000 shoes in your inventory, what’s your inventory worth?”
“A little over $1 million.”
He carries shoes made by celebrities including Kanye West’s popular Yeezy’s which are typically hard to purchase.
“These are actually like cheap; $1,400, $1,500,” Benjamin said.
Benjamin even had Drake autograph one of his sneakers.
“So what’s the most expensive sneaker you have in your inventory right now?”
“There’s one that I’m not allowed to disclose, that one’s in the range of $30,000. But other than that, an Eminem 4 probably, which is probably like $22,000,” Benjamin told Deco’s Chris Van Vliet.
Right now, you can only find The Sneaker Don online, but Benjamin told us he is in the process of opening up stores in Miami, Los Angeles and New York before the end of the year.
“Sneakers is like my hobby and my passion. Basically everyone says that if you do something you like, you’re going to be successful in it,” Benjamin said.
