Shopping with your best friend is about to take on a whole new meaning — thanks to a boutique in Fort Lauderdale. It’s called Salon Bark and it caters to people and their pooches. From paw-dicures to purses, blow-outs to blueberry facials — Tonight, “The Bark and the Beautiful” is one of my favorite things.
If you love fashion and your furry, four-legged friend…
Danielle Gaudreau, owner: “Hey Deco Drive, welcome to Salon Bark.”
This unique boutique is for you. Salon Bark in Fort Lauderdale fabulously fuses two of my favorite things.
Danielle Gaudreau: “You know, it’s funny. I just couldn’t make up my mind. I love dogs, I’m an animal advocate, and I decided that I just couldn’t give up fashion. So, I decided to combine the two and at first, people laughed, but now they go, ‘Gosh, I really wish I had thought of it.'”
For people, you’ll find purses, accessories and resort wear. It’s so shi’ shi’ even designer Carlos Marrero, who’s been featured before on “Favorite Things” sells his famous scarves here.
Danielle Gaudreau: “I travel all over to find new and interesting pieces that aren’t in Florida yet.”
For pooches, buy bedazzled bows, Hermès-inspired collars and crazy cute couture clothing.
Shireen Sandoval: “Do you have any accessories for guy dogs?”
Danielle Gaudreau: “Absolutely, we have fabulous bowties that are from Brooklyn. We are the only store in Florida that carries Brooklyn Bowtied.”
That’s not all…
Danielle Gaudreau: “We are a beginning-to-end spa, so, your dog is assigned a stylist, and that stylist will accommodate your dog.”
Primping and preening your pooch isn’t the only thing on the luxury menu…
Danielle Gaudreau: “We do facials for dogs…”
Shireen Sandoval: “Wait, wait? You do a dog facial?”
Danielle Gaudreau: “Yes, we do blueberry facials. They love that. We do special mud treatments because some dogs have skin issues too, just like people.”
For the blog, there was no ruffin’ it! Rigby and I got the royal treatment with fashions and accessories by Salon Bark. We worked it like the dog house rent was due.
Shireen Sandoval: “What’s the most high maintenance dog that you have?”
Danielle Gaudreau: “We have a golden doodle that is flown in on a G4 from Kentucky. Will be arriving here in a Bentley, with his nanny dropped off for his full-day at the spa.”
Whether you’re shopping or spa’ing — one thing’s for sure…
Danielle Gaudreau: “It is ultimately the best playground for girls and their dog.”
