A medical mystery meets a supernatural thriller in “The 9th Life of Louis Drax.” A 9-year-old ends up in a coma, and it’s up to an unorthodox doctor to help him, but the answers may surprise everyone.

Molly Parker (as Detective Dalton): “The patient’s name is Louis Drax. Nine years old. He fell off one of the cliffs at Land’s End.”

A medical miracle becomes a mystery in “The 9th Life of Louis Drax.”

Julian Wadham (as Dr. Janek): “He was dead for two hours. I’ve never seen anything like it. He’s in a coma.”

Jamie Dornan (as Dr. Allan Pascal): “But he’s alive.”

Louis Drax’s 9th birthday turns into a nightmare. While on a family picnic, something goes wrong.

Aaron Paul: “He comes near death many times throughout his entire life, and on his 9th birthday, he falls off a cliff. And this story, a lot of it follows his journey inside this coma.”

People get suspicious when they realize Louis had a lot of traumas in his life, and that his father, played by Aaron Paul, disappeared right after his son fell off a cliff.

Aaron Paul: “You see many sides of Peter Drax. You see him as this violent, frustrated husband, and also you see him as a very loving, caring father.”

While Louis is in a coma, Dr. Allan Pascal, played by Jamie Dornan, tries to get to get the bottom of the medical mystery.

Jamie Dornan: “I think he’s just so intrigued by this case. He’s someone thirsty for knowledge and someone who always wants to excel in his profession.”

As for his own work, Jamie likes to mix up his roles, so it’s a good thing Dr. Pascal is a far cry from Christian Grey in “Fifty Shades of Grey.”

Jamie Dornan: “That’s the best thing about being an actor for a living, is that you get to inhabit all these different people.”

Different roles keeps Jamie on his feet.

Jamie Dornan: “The character of Pascal is much closer to me than Christian Grey. It’s good to show that.”

The next “Fifty Shades” flick isn’t scheduled to come out until next year, so if you need a Jamie Dornan fix, check out “The 9th Life of Louis Drax.”
