WSVN — Asian flavors are delicious when it comes to food made on the streets of Thailand. That’s what’s on the menu tonight as we grab a Bite with Belkys.

The Dish: Thai Street Chicken Dumplings
Ingredients:
Dumplings
5 lb. minced chicken
1/2 white onion, minced
1/2 bunch scallions, chopped fine
1/4 bunch celery, chopped fine
1/4 can bamboo shoots, chopped fine
2 1/2 tsp. sea salt
5 tsp. sugar
1 tbs. garlic powder
1 tbs. white pepper
1/4 cup sesame oil
3 tbs. oyster sauce
2 tbs. cornstarch
2 beaten egg yolks
Wonton Wrappers
Sweet Soy Sauce
1 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup sugar (to taste)
1/2 cup Rice Wine Vinegar
Dash sesame seeds and chili pepper powder (to taste)
Method of Preparation:
– In a bowl add minced chicken, sesame oil, chopped green onion, celery, white onion, bamboo shoots, cornstarch, sugar, sea salt and white or black pepper. Add garlic powder
egg yolks and oyster sauce. Mix well and set out the Wonton Wrappers.
– Sprinkle some corn starch to keep the wrappers from sticking. Put a spoonful of the chicken in the middle of a wonton wrapper, fold it over and gather the edges.
– Fry the dumplings in vegetable oil at 350 degrees for about 3 minutes until it’s golden and crispy.
– To make the sweet soy sauce, add soy sauce, sugar, rice vinegar, chili pepper powder and sesame seeds. Stir well and set aside. When the dumplings are done, let them drain
To Plate:
Chef Bee plates the dumplings in a bowl with chopped Thai chili peppers and the sweet sesame soy sauce.
