So this summer I turn 40 plus tax and tip (50!). I still love being social, but I’m certainly not the party girl I used to be. Getting home at 4 a.m. lost its luster a long time ago. Lucky for us Top Chef alum Chef Dale Talde loves a fun day party too, so he’s taking brunch to new heights at Talde at The Confidante, formerly known as the Thompson Miami Beach.

One Saturday a month the restaurant throws a “Brunch Life” theme party with music and food to match. The first one: Miami Brunch Machine, featured Ropa Vieja Dumplings, Fried Rice and Beans with Lechon and Yuzu Mojo and Crispy Avocado Bao Buns. Last week I went to the “Brunch Biv Devoe” party, old school beats paired up with soul food like fried chicken, waffles, mac & cheese and collard greens. The best part is it’s all you can eat from 1-5pm and brunch averages about $30 per person depending on the theme.

The date for the next installment of “Brunch Life” is TBA but Chef Dale’s a-la-carte Asian American menu is also available. Really it doesn’t matter what you order just get ready to get funky and enjoy some great food, good music and a kick ass day party. Sign me up!
