The weekend is here — woo woo! And here at Deco, we’re always looking for food, fun and parties. So we found a cool brunch on the beach where you get it all! The only problem is, it can be a real drag, too. But it’s the good kind of drag, dahling!
These ladies are working it — at Señor Frogs’ Sunday Drag Brunch on SoBe.
Edison Farrow: “It’s a huge success. We get a big crowd every Sunday, and you can just feel the energy in the room.”
The party’s poppin’, hosted by famed SoFlo drag queen Elaine Lancaster.
Elaine Lancaster: “I got my start here at the Warsaw Ballroom in 1997, and everything goes full circle. Now it’s Señor Frogs, we are jam-packed from the stage to the door, every Sunday from 12 noon to 4 p.m.”
The show is a riot, and you get to mingle with the ladies while sipping mimosas and other cocktails served by your hot topless waiter.
Edison Farrow: “It’s unlimited cocktails. Mimosas, margaritas, mixed drinks — all kinds of drinks.”
Check out these crazy yard-long cocktails. It’s mostly booze with some mixers mixed in — shaken, not stirred. Cheers!
The food’s endless, too, and everything’s included, even the balloon hats.
Edison Farrow: “It’s $39.95, all you can eat, all you can drink and all the fun you can possibly consume.”
You’ve got burgers and fries, smoked salmon eggs Benny, huevos rancheros, French toast with berries and barbecue skirt steak skewers. Yum! And with all that food and booze, your inhibitions will be down, so go ahead — sing with the girls!
Don’t be shy. It’s all about audience participation.
Elaine Lancaster: “The audience here is fantastic. We get a lot of tourists, but also a lot of locals. A lot of people who are like — I wanna say old school — come out and they’re like, ‘This is exactly what we’ve been waiting for! Thank you so much for doing this for us.'”
The ladies work hard to look good, but you’d never recognize them beforehand.
Elaine Lancaster: “No, I would hope not. If you did, I wouldn’t be doing my job very well.”
