Ahh, the Bloody Mary — one of the world’s great inventions. It kicks a Sunday hangover to the curb and goes great with brunch. A Broward hotspot is deconstructing the classic cocktail, and letting diners create their own recipes. What winds up in your glass is up to you.
Fort Lauderdale’s Pizzacraft Artisan Pizzeria is unveiling a new Sunday brunch. Their bar, Apothecary 330, makes sure you never get thirsty.
Aaron Addicott, mixologist: "So for our Bloody Mary bar, there’s over 100 different kinds of Bloody Marys you can come up with."
When it comes to building your own Bloody Mary, you’re only limited by your imagination.
Aaron Addicott: "If you can think it, we can make it."
And make it they will… the bar staff is at your service.
Aaron Addicott: "You tell them what you want in your Bloody Mary, and we have a vast array of different items to add to that."
You can spice up your drink with a variety of olives, peppers, cheeses, cold cuts and fresh herbs. You’re not stuck on vodka, either… no choice of spirit is off-limits.
Aaron Addicott: "If you come in and you want your gin Bloody Mary, or your Myer’s Bloody Mary absolutely no problem and if that’s where you’re starting, our bar staff can help you cater to those flavors."
Any combination you come up with to fill your glass will be a great match for what’s on your plate…
Aaron Addicott: "Everything was kind of put together to be harmonious as far as when you’re ordering one of our items, and you want a cocktail that kind of will pair with it."
It’s only right that a place called Pizzacraft offers a breakfast pizza on their Sunday brunch menu. This cheesy delight mixes potatoes, bacon, scallion, cream and fresh eggs. It’s no accident that the dish partners nicely with the house’s specialty drink.
Aaron Addicott: "We did think in broad terms as far as spectrum goes to build everything together."
Dig into some creamy avocado toast, or try the Nova Scotia salmon focaccia.
Snapping out of a Saturday night stupor is easy. The hangover sandwich #3, with smoker’s bacon, a fried egg and melted provolone will do the job. Your personalized Bloody Mary is calling you…
Aaron Addicott: "Anything you can do to your own that you can customize and you don’t have to adhere to specific menu guidelines. I mean who doesn’t love that?"
