What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, unless you’re a Hooters girl from South Florida — and you’ve just won the Hooters International Beauty Pageant. Chris Van Vliet is here with the story.

By day, Sable Robbert serves up wings and a smile at Hooters in Pembroke Pines, but now she now has a new job, representing Hooters restaurants all over the world.

We know Hooters as the spot for wings and beer and of course … the girls.

Well, the ladies traded in their orange shorts for gowns and swimsuits for the Hooters International Pageant in Las Vegas.

The event brought Hooters girls from all over the world. When it came time to announce the winner — a SoFlo local hit the jackpot.

Sable Robbert, Miss Hooters International: “I really feel that above just serving chicken wings and being apart of this wonderful pageant, that Hooters success is being a part of their community.”

Sable Robbert of Pembroke Pines took home the crown, along with $30,000, and she couldn’t be more excited.

Sable Robbert, Miss Hooters International: “It’s still pretty fresh. I have to keep pinching myself saying, ‘No, you just won Miss Hooters International.’ For me, it was just kinda like making your parents happy. I get to come back and celebrate with my friends, family, some of our awesome guests, the people that have been supporting me.”

We caught up with Sable at her home base — Hooters in Pembroke Pines.

Sable Robbert, Miss Hooters International: “I’ve only ever worked at Hooters of Pembroke Pines. This is my home spot. You can find me at the outside bar at Hooters of Pembroke Pines, most of the week.”

The restaurant will have to do without her for a while. Her new title will have Sable traveling the world promoting the brand.

Sable Robbert, Miss Hooters International: “I’ve worked really, really hard the last few years at Hooters. I’m super passionate about this company and everything that they stand for. So for me to have my hard work recognized and my passion for Hooters recognized, it meant a lot to me.”

And that check for $30,000? It’s being put to good use.

Sable Robbert, Miss Hooters International: “My main goal with the money is I’d love to put a down on a house, but I definitely want to give back to one of my charities.”

As if you couldn’t tell, Sable is a fitness fanatic, but when it comes to Hooter’s menu, there’s one thing she can’t live without.

Sable Robbert, Miss Hooters International: “Oh wow, our buffalo shrimp, honey Thai sauce, side of ranch.”

The menu’s the same at Hooters all over the world, but if you want to meet Sable — there’s only one place to go.

Hooters employees: “Welcome to Hooters!”

Sable will be away from the Hooters in Pembroke Pines for a little while. Her next stop is Iowa for a charity event raising funds for Self Help International.
