DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — The publisher of Better Homes and Gardens is teaming up with popular television home-renovation couple Joanna and Chip Gaines to create a new quarterly lifestyle magazine.
Iowa-based Meredith Corp. says the first issue of “The Magnolia Journal” will be in stores this week with 400,000 copies distributed by retailers, bookstores, newsstands and online.

The Gaines and their Waco, Texas-based operation star in HGTV’s “Fixer Upper.” The home-renovation show is one of the most watched programs in the cable network’s history among adults between age 25 and 54.
Meredith’s publisher, Christine Guilfoyle, says the magazine covers entertaining, seasonally driven celebrations, outdoor living, family, food and healthy lifestyle showcased through the Gaines’ signature rustic, back-to-our-roots aesthetic.
Meredith publications, which also include “Allrecipes” and “Parents,” reach more than 100 million women every month.
