Season 3 of “Empire” is just around the corner. Although the cast of the hit show won’t dish any secrets, they are sharing where the show picks up after last season’s dramatic finale.

The Season 3 premiere of Fox’s hit drama “Empire”, kicking off with lots of loose ends. The family struggle for power goes on. One son is still recovering from a gunshot wound, and another is dealing with a wedding that never happened.

Plus, there’s that fight scene where someone may have fallen over a balcony. Star Taraji P. Henson spills one small detail.

Interviewer: “Will they survive?”

Taraji P. Henson: “Right! (laughs). And who they fall on (makes a face), ummm (laughs) See, there’s something.”

There will be fewer guest stars this season, except for Mariah Carey, who worked with Jussie Smollett.

Jussie Smollett: “The main thing that blew my mind this season was being vocally produced by Mariah Carey, ’cause I’m like ‘This is stupid.’ I’m like, ‘Y’all, this is so dumb ‘, like, it makes no sense in my life, and I’m sitting there looking at her, and … she’s Mariah Carey!”

And while Yazz’ character didn’t get hitched, he still has a lot going on.

Bryshere Yazz Gray: “He’s going to be a young father, so he has to grow up. He has to show his father that he can be a better dad than he was to him. He has to focus more on his music.”

Fans can also count on a lot of flashbacks.

Taraji P. Henson: “What I love about this season in particular are the flashbacks. You really get to learn more about where Cookie comes from.”

Trai Byers: “Everybody’s got their stories. Everybody’s got their skeletons in the closet, so if that’s what you mean by ‘amplified,’ then yeah, we’re scripted like the Kardashian family (laughs) with so many different things going on.”

The Season 3 premiere of “Empire” airs Sept. 21 right here on 7.
