Eleven million people tuned in to see revenge, betrayal and a gruesome death last night on “Empire.” They got all that and … a cliffhanger that’ll have you talking all summer long.

It was a fight to the death as Anika and Rhonda duked it out in the dramatic season finale of “Empire!”

That coming after a brawl. Rhonda slapped the very pregnant Anika — accusing her of pushing her down the stairs, causing her to lose her baby.

Anika admitted she did indeed push Rhonda, so — who goes over? That’s the cliff hanger.

Lee Daniels, “Empire” producer: “It even shocked me and I said, ‘Hold on. I co-wrote this and it shocked me.’ I said, ‘Oh no, no!”

Next — an impromptu wedding! Lucious marries Anika so she doesn’t have to testify against him. Man, the Feds can get a man to do anything!

In the meantime, Hakeem gets left at the alter and Jamal survives his gun shot wound — by Freda — who was aiming for Lucious.

Jamal came home from the hospital — refusing to sing again — and depressed! But Freda inspires him from prison.

And Lucious finds out he has a half brother!

Ta’Rhonda Jones: “You would think, ‘OK it can’t get worse’ or ‘It can’t get better.’ Like what can get better or what can get worse than what’s going on already? And then you’d be surprised.”

While the actors prepare for more wild plotlines next season, they’re also appreciative of what the show has given them.

Bryshere Y. Gray: “It’s just a dream come true, and that it’s so respectable to the industry and that it’s making more jobs for us African Americans and actors period.”

Kaitlin Doubleday: “It wasn’t a bunch of names, other than Terrence and Taraji that came to do this, so if we can give other talented artists a platform to then go off and do what they want to do after ‘Empire,’ I hope it continues to give deserving people that shot.”
