A mind is a terrible thing to waste, and in the new movie "Criminal" they aren’t wasting anyone’s mind… they are recycling it. Deco’s Chris Van Vliet is playing this memory game.

Have you ever wondered what someone else was thinking? In the movie "Criminal," you get to find out. Doctors take the memory of a CIA agent and put it into a career criminal — the end result, a movie staring Kevin Costner and Ryan Reynolds.

Take the mind and memory of a CIA agent played by Ryan Reynolds, and implant it into the mind of a dangerous criminal played by Kevin Costner, and you have the movie "Criminal."

A CIA agent is killed in action, but the agency needs to get information from him. So, a doctor, played by Tommy Lee Jones, uses an experimental memory merge to put the agent’s thoughts and feelings into Costner’s character, Jericho Stewart.

Kevin Costner: "I think Jericho is a really good guy, I think he does some awful things. I think he’s being used."

Gary Oldman plays the CIA bigwig in charge of getting this critical information.

Gary Oldman: "He’s a little loud at times and volatile and he’s one of those bosses that likes to keep everyone on their toes. So he’s a little unpredictable."

This is the ultimate good guy meets bad guy, and what you get is Jericho 2.0.

Kevin Costner: "He has two sets of skills now. He has a very high set of skills from a CIA agent from a memory transfer, and he also has these gut-instinct, native, resourceful and fighter street guy that they can’t predict."

And for the CIA — seeing the good in their new asset isn’t easy.

Gary Oldman: "He’s put in this situation where he’s forced to work with this guy that he detests."

This memory merge means juggling his own memories and someone else’s too. So this career criminal who has never felt anything now knows good, bad, love and loss.

Fun fact for you: This movie is a reunion for Kevin Costner, Tommy Lee Jones and Gary Oldman. It’s the first time they’ve been together in something since Oliver Stone’s film "JFK" back in 1991. You can see them in "Criminal" starting Friday.
