It’s Friday and it’s time to toast the weekend. Deco found a spot that has drinks that will remind you of high school chemistry — and make you glad you are old enough to taste them.

Cheers, salud and raise a glass! Copper 29 in Coral Gables is a bar that’s part science, part speakeasy.

Angelica Galan: “Our cocktails are unique here. There is a chemistry component that you’ve never seen at bars here in Miami or in Coral Gables.”

It’s all about the details at this this spot on Miracle Mile.

Angelica Galan: “We really think about the ingredients we put into the cocktails, and it’s all about the experience the guest are having.”

Copper 29’s specialty drinks are full of flavor — and some fun ingredients.

Angelica Galan: “Some of our unique ingredients are the 24K golden powder, coconut matcha, the frozen ice cubes with flower that we serve in some of the cocktails.”

From the Lost In Japan that’s made with coconut matcha powder and topped with edible golden flakes, to the Copper 29 that has a layer of foam and hibiscus on top, the drinks look pretty and taste great.

Katrina Vargas Vila, customer: “The drinks here are different, unique. They are tasty and there is something for everyone. They’re a conversation piece.”

And here, creativity doesn’t cost a small fortune.

Angelica Galan: “Even though the cocktails are very rare and use unique ingredients, they are all $14, and it’s a great price for where we are in Coral Gables.”

And while you’re tossing back fun and funky drinks, fill up on dishes like duck nachos, truffle mac and cheese or the short rib flat bread.

Angelica Galan: “Our dishes are really easy to share. They are tapas style — Southern with a Latin twist — some comfort dishes, great to have while you are having cocktails.”

Copper 29 is mixology meets chemistry meets good times in the Gables.
