WSVN — Another member of the 7News team is rolling up his sleeves and trying his hand at cooking. Brandon Beyer is cooking up a holiday dish that will leave you smiling. Chicken is on the menu tonight. Let’s grab a bite!
The Chef: Brandon Beyer
The Dish: Chicken Drumettes
Ingredients:
1 5-pound bag of chicken drumettes
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup soy sauce
1 cup cooking sherry
1 disposable baking pan (it’s easier to use disposable because this is a messy recipe!)
Method of Preparation:
– Thaw chicken and put it in the pan. Bake uncovered at 400 degrees for one and a half hours. Stir or shake now and then.
– When the chicken has been in the oven for an hour and a half, it’s time to get busy with the glaze. Add soy sauce, cooking sherry and brown sugar to a pot. Heat it up. When it comes to a boil, turn off the heat, take the chicken out of the oven, and pour on the glaze.
– Put the chicken back in the oven, turn the heat down to 350 degrees and cook for another two hours.
To Plate:
Brandon serves it up with corn on the cob and coleslaw.
Serving suggestion: Key West Beer
