Look! Up in the sky! It’s a bird. It’s a plane. It’s NOT Superman. It’s a Tanuki, a Japanese raccoon dog, and it’s not up in the sky it’s in the middle of the dining room at Tanuki. The new South Beach eatery just opened featuring some Asian favorites.
Sushi, Sashimi, Specialty rolls, Entrees like Black Cod and Peking Duck. They’ve got it all. We started with some crispy Spicy Shrimp ($15) in chili ailoi, a Daikani salad ($9) with crab, oranges, and greens in a citrus vinaigrette. Our Marinated Black Cod ($20) and Sichuan Style Beef ($15) perfect for sharing.
Ran out of room for dessert but Tanuki is open til 2 a.m. so next time I’m in the mood for a late night Mochi I know just where to go.
