The Rock is killing it on TV. His HBO series “Ballers” is shot in SoFlo and is coming back for its second season. Chris Van Vliet was at the Red Carpet premiere down on South Beach.
It may be a black carpet, but you get the feeling.
Season Two of “Ballers” kicks off this Sunday, but all the stars from the show were at the Premiere on South Beach.
For those who haven’t seen the show, the Rock plays former football player Spencer Strasmore, now working as a financial manager for current players.
The great thing about the show is that it’s filmed in Miami and the stars of the show love it.
Rob Corddry: “I love going to work everyday, and that very rarely happens.”
John David Washington: “All these characters that you got to know in Season One, you’re just gonna delve in deeper into their psyche.”
The Rock can relate to his character because he played football at the University of Miami before playing pro football in the Canadian Football League. He said it was a dream for him to grow up and play in the NFL but it didn’t turn out that way. Instead, he is now one of the greatest actors in Hollywood.
“Ballers” premieres Sunday at 10 p.m.
