Love a great view? Love tasty Italian food? Well then you’ve come to the right blog LOL. Antica Mare is a little tucked away in Miami’s Shorecrest neighborhood, just west of North Bay Village. It’s right over the the 79th Street Causeway, and I drive past the sign all the time never knowing something so tasty was so close to me. The restaurant is inside the Shorecrest Club apartment complex. It’s right on the bay and the view is pretty awesome and they have indoor seating as well.

Antica Mare serves authentic Tuscan cuisine featuring seafood, meats and house made pastas all whipped up with ingredients imported from Italy. We started our meal with the capesante con passata di ceci, the seared scallops with chickpea puree ($15). Our waiter suggested it and we’re glad we listened. We followed it up with the crudo di tonno con carpaccio di tartufo nero, aka tuna crudo topped with black truffles carpaccio ($16). We finished the meal by sharing a house specialty pasta: tagliatelle con ragù di salsicce di maiale or house made tagliatelle with pork sausage ragu. Cannoli con crema chantilly, cannoli stuffed with house made chantilly cream ($8) rounded out the meal. By the way, the menu is in Italian with English translations so you get dinner and learn some new Italian words while you order. Bonus!

The flavors may be Italian but the setting is 100% South Florida. A beautiful bay view that reminds you there’s no place like home.
