There’s no shortage of places in South Florida to grab a beer, but turns out beer isn’t just for drinking. It’s for cooking up great bar food. Deco’s appetizer expert Chris Van Vliet is here with the story.

I love me some pub food. People always ask, what’s your favorite kind of food? Mexican? Italian? Greek? And I just say bar food.

This new hot spot takes pub food and beer to a new level, because they combine the two together. Oh, yeah!

South Florida has become a haven for beer lovers. From Dade to Broward, there’s no shortage of places to grab a pint. Now there’s a new spot in the 305.

Zeke Maniera, 305 Brews: “What we try to do is think outside the box.”

305 Brews in Midtown is serving up brews and bites. And when it comes to beer, it’s locals only.

Zeke Maniera: “We do drafts. We have 21 beers taps. All those 21 are local. It’s local beers, it’s local ciders.”

From Funky Buddha to M.I.A. Brewing, the selection is always changing.

Zeke Maniera: “Beers are gonna be evolving all the time. We’re gonna have seasonals, we’re gonna have Octoberfest.”

The suds aren’t just flowing at the bar. They’re in the kitchen.

Zeke Maniera: “We do have a kitchen that works with beer and hops and beer ingredients, so we cook tapas that are meant to be shared. Our best sellers with that would be our shrimps. Those are really good with La Rubia, the Wynwood blond ale.”

Even the burgers get basted in beer.

Zeke Maniera: “We have our 305 Burger. What we do is a blend of beef and pork. We marinade it in IPA, so it has that hoppiness to it.”

Customer 1: “The shrimp was great, and we had a little steak earlier. It was outstanding, yeah, yeah, and the beer selection is second to none.”

Customer 2: “It was delicious. The sauce, the mango chutney, is amazing.”

If a cold one isn’t quite cold enough, grab a spoon and dig in to the beer ice cream. Yeah, it’s a thing!

Zeke Maniera: “There’s so many flavor profiles for beer, that it all depends on how you mix it.”

So if you’re in the mood for a pint and a bite, no need to drive all over town. Take a seat in the 305.

The owners tell us they want to keep prices low. Dinner runs from $8 to $15, and local craft beers are around $7.
