The “cold air connection” we felt all of last week is now gone.   Our south Florida air is now arriving off the Atlantic waters.   That trend will continue to make for milder nights and warmer days.   In the short run, you’ll notice a few more clouds covering the sky.   We’re seeing a blend of high clouds moving from upper winds (and the west) while patches of low clouds move into the region from the east.   By Tuesday, high pressure shifts closer to Florida and a clearing trend is expected.   By the way, it’s also a breezy start to the new week.   Winds will be stronger near the beaches compared to calmer conditions inland.   Unlike last week, cold fronts will be blocked from reaching us.  A sturdy bubble of high pressure will extend from the Bahamas into Florida and the eastern Gulf of Mexico.  As a result, quiet and mainly dry weather will be the rule.   Temperatures will even rise above seasonal averages as the week continues.   With enough sun, some spots may even feel the middle 80’s before the week is done!   Happy holidays.
