Even with more clouds hanging around, rain chances remain low. Most of the cloud cover has overspread Florida from the Gulf of Mexico. These mainly high clouds will include some breaks as the week winds down. Meanwhile, we’re finally going to see a few weather changes around the region. The main change in the forecast involves a stronger push of heat with the return of above average temperatures. The extra bit of warmth will build on the back side of high pressure. The high, by the way, is slowly retreating over the western Atlantic waters. As it moves away, it will open the door for a still distant cold front that’s working its way across the central states. Looking ahead, the front will likely reach a “barrier” by the time it moves into north Florida during the weekend. Upper level winds will be generally zonal, moving west to east and preventing the boundary from dipping much into our state. Summer levels of heat and humidity will carry over into the new week, too.
