Good morning South Florida,

We are waking up to partly cloudy skies and a few scattered showers in Miami- Dade and Broward counties, especially around the coastal areas. Temperatures will continue to be steamy in the mid to upper 80’s in the afternoon with winds traveling East to Southeast at 10-15 mph. The influence of a surface high will ensure another round of sea breeze storms this afternoon and over the Atlantic coastline, so we can expect more showers and thunderstorms over the next few days in the afternoon and early evening hours pushing inland.

By the weekend, temperatures will remain warm with highs in the upper 80’s to around 90 degrees as a  Summer-like pattern continues. Look for the daytime heating to fuel afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms. However, if the computer models are right, next week we could see widespread activity with more moisture moving in from the Caribbean.

In the Tropics:

Today marks the start of the 2016 Hurricane Season and the next name storm will be “Colin”. We are keeping a close eye on the tropics and will continue to keep you updated.

Have a great day South Florida and make it a good one!
