DEERFIELD BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - A couple has been left shaken after an armed home invasion robbery at their Deerfield Beach apartment, Wednesday morning.

According to Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies, the man of the house was leaving for work when an armed robber confronted him in the hallway of the apartment building, which is located on Lock Road, at around 8 a.m.

The robber then forced the man back into their apartment and ordered him and the woman inside to get on the ground at gunpoint.

The robber then demanded money, electronics and anything of value. The man reportedly spent some time inside the apartment.

The apartments have a protective door, which remains locked, but the robbers somehow got past it.

Residents said they now feel unsafe, despite that door.

“She just told me that her husband was about to go to work,” said neighbor Collin Morris, “and as soon as he opened apartment building to get out, I think two guys forced him back in to give them everything they have. She was afraid because she said they had them down on their stomachs, and the gun was pointed to their heads. [The robbers] were in the apartment for an hour or so, so I mean this is crazy.”

BSO investigators said electronics were taken.

Police tried setting up a perimeter to look for the robber who fled on foot, but he remains at large.

If you have any information on this armed robbery, call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a $3,000 reward.
