MIAMI (WSVN) — Bumble Bee Foods is recalling three specific UPC codes of canned Chunk Light Tuna over concerns of spoilage.
The company claims 31,579 cans of tuna failed to go through a sterilization process at a packing facility not owned or operated by Bumble Bee.
According to officials, if consumed, the contamination caused by the spoilage organisms could lead to life-threatning illnesses.
No one has been reported ill due to contamination so far.
Bumble Bee is working closely with the co-packer and the FDA to quickly remove the products from store shelves.
