WEST BROWARD, Fla. (WSVN) — An unusual looking plane is still sitting in the Everglades, a day after it was forced to make an emergency landing Wednesday, following engine trouble.

The jet is modeled after an L-39 Albatros, a type of aircraft used for military purposes. However, it’s an imitation that aviation enthusiasts sometimes fly.

Fire Rescue crews responded to the scene in West Broward, East of U.S. 27 and north of Interstate 75, at around 7:15 p.m., Wednesday.

According to officials, two people on board, a man and a woman, managed to walk away without injuries.

The private jet was making its way towards Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, when the pilot said he was having engine trouble and needed to put down the plane.

7News caught up with the pilot and passenger, who did not wish to speak on camera. However, they said they did exactly what they were trained to do in an emergency situation.

The Federal Aviation Administration is now investigating, as the plane continues to stay parked in the Everglades.
