CORAL GABLES, Fla. (WSVN) — A 6 foot 3 inch tall middle school quarterback has been offered a scholarship by a South Florida university.

Eighth grader Harrison Bailey is from Georgia, and he caught the eye of University of Miami head football Coach, Mark Richt.

Richt coached the Georgia Bulldogs for 15 years and seems to know all about Bailey. This past season, Bailey helped his school win the Georgia state grade school 6-A title.

The 175-pound quarterback passed for over 1600 yards, rushed for over 1200 yards, and he had 39 touchdowns in just eight games.

Harrison tweeted out a picture of him with coach Richt flashing the "U" sign. The tweet read, "Blessed and humbled to receive my 1st offer from the U."

Bailey can’t actually sign a letter of intent with Miami or any other school offering him a scholarship for another four years.

If all goes well, Bailey will be playing as part of UM’s 2020 recruiting class at Sun Life Stadium.
