(WSVN) - One of the most prized players the University of Miami men’s basketball team has recruited in recent years was arrested on battery charges, Tuesday night.

Police said freshman Dewan Huell, 19, a Miami Norland High graduate, attacked a man he found with his girlfriend inside her dorm room at Florida International University.

UM Athletic Director Blake James released a statement that said, “I am aware of the reported incident involving Dewan Huell last night, and we are still gathering information. I have very high expectations for all of our student-athletes, as I know Coach Larrañaga does for his team, and any misconduct will be addressed.”
