BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Sabres forward Evander Kane has pleaded not guilty in Buffalo City Court to charges alleging he grabbed three women during an altercation at a downtown bar in June.

The 24-year-old Kane was arrested July 22 after turning himself in to Buffalo police and was charged with non-criminal harassment, disorderly conduct and trespass. He was released after being processed.

The charges stem from an alleged incident that occurred early on June 24. Three women said they were grabbed by Kane inside and outside the bar. A male bar employee said he also had a run-in with the NHL player.

Kane didn’t speak to reporters after his brief court appearance Monday morning.

His lawyer, Paul Cambria, has questioned why Kane was charged with trespassing when he was invited to the bar by its owner.
