MIAMI (AP) — Pitcher Bryan Morris and the Miami Marlins avoided salary arbitration when they agreed to a $1.35 million, one-year contract.

The 28-year-old right-hander was 5-4 with a 3.14 ERA in 67 relief appearances last season for the Marlins, who acquired him from Pittsburgh in June 2014.

Six Marlins were on track to exchange proposed salary figures with the team Friday: right-handers Jose Fernandez, David Phelps, Tom Koehler, Carter Capps and A.J. Ramos; and shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria.

Second baseman Dee Gordon, the NL batting champion, agreed to a $50 million, five-year contract, a deal awaiting finalization.
