WEST POINT, N.Y. (AP) — Jonathan Huberdeau left with an apparent left leg injury during the Florida Panthers’ 4-2 win over the New Jersey Devils on Saturday night.
As Huberdeau turned away from a check behind New Jersey’s net, the skate of Devils center Sergey Kalinin appeared to come down on Huberdeau’s left ankle. The Panthers have not offered an update on Huberdeau’s status.
Roberto Luongo made 25 saves and Jonathan Marchessault, Colton Sceviour, Aaron Ekblad and Vincent Trocheck scored for Florida.
Goaltending tandem Cory Schneider and Keith Kinkaid split time in goal for New Jersey. Schneider allowed all four Florida goals on 15 shots, while Kinkaid stopped all eight shots he faced.
Andy Greene and Michael Cammalleri scored for New Jersey.
BLUE JACKETS STING PENGUINS
In Pittsburgh, Oliver Bjorkstrand scored twice and Sergei Bobrovsky made 22 saves to help the Columbus Blue Jackets beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-3 in the preseason finale for both teams.
Matt Calvert had a goal and an assist, Brandon Saad and Boone Jenner also scored, and Alexander Wennberg had two assists.
Kris Letang, Evgeni Malkin and Scott Wilson scored for the Stanley Cup champion Penguins. Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 31 shots.
WILD USE BIG THIRD TO BEAT JETS
In St. Paul, Minnesota, Charlie Coyle capped a four-goal third period and the Minnesota Wild beat the Winnipeg Jets 5-1.
Mike Reilly, Christoph Bertschy and Marco Scandella also scored for Minnesota in the third after Zach Parise got the game’s first goal midway through the first.
Devan Dubnyk stopped 17 shots for the Wild.
Joel Armia scored with 8:14 left in the first to make it 1-1, and Michael Hutchinson made 29 saves for the Jets.
BRUINS SLIP PAST FLYERS
In Boston, Ryan Spooner’s breakaway goal 1:48 into overtime lifted the Boston Bruins over the Philadelphia Flyers 1-0.
David Backes’ pass led Spooner on a breakaway before he snapped a quick shot past goalie Steve Mason.
Mason made 22 saves.
Tuukka Rask stopped 27 shots.
WINGS SOAR OVER LEAFS
In Detroit, Anthony Mantha’s third goal of the preseason with 8:03 left broke a tie and powered the Detroit Red Wings to a 4-3 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Detroit led 3-1 after two periods. Gustav Nyquist and Dylan Larkin scored in the first period, and Brendan Smith added a goal late in the second.
Toronto scored twice in a 12-second span to start the third period and tied it 3-3. William Nylander made it 3-2 39 seconds in, and Brooks Laich’s first of the exhibition season at 51 seconds drew the game even.
Zach Hyman scored in the second period for Toronto.
Petr Mrazek made 29 saves for Detroit, while Toronto goaltender Frederik Andersen stopped 19 of 23 shots.
STAMKOS LEADS LIGHTNING OVER PREDATORS
In Tampa, Florida, Steven Stamkos’ three-assist performance helped the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Nashville Predators 5-3.
Nikita Nesterov, Brayden Point, Jonathan Drouin, Tyler Johnson and Ondrej Palat scored for the Lightning, while Tampa Bay goaltenders Ben Bishop and Andrei Vasilevskiy split time in net. Bishop made 14 saves on 16 shots in two periods, and Vasilevskiy stopped seven of eight shots in the third.
Pekka Rinne allowed all five Lightning goals on 36 shots.
Craig Smith scored twice for the Predators, and Colin Wilson added a goal.
PIETERANGELO LIFTS BLUES OVER BLACKHAWKS
In St. Louis, Alex Pietrangelo scored early in the third period to lift the St. Louis Blues over the Chicago Blackhawks 2-1.
Vladimir Tarasenko got his first goal of the preseason in the first period for the Blues. Carter Hutton stopped 11 of 12 shots in two periods for St. Louis, and Jake Allen stopped all six shots he faced.
Dennis Rasmussen scored for Chicago to make it 1-1 early in the second. Corey Crawford stopped 19 shots.
AVALANCHE CROWN KINGS
In Las Vegas, Gabriel Landeskog’s goal 30 seconds into overtime lifted the Colorado Avalanche to a 2-1 comeback win over the Los Angeles Kings.
Mikhail Grigorenko scored with 1:14 left in the third period to tie the game and set up Landeskog’s winner.
Semyon Varlamov made 26 saves for the Avalanche.
Jeff Carter scored for Los Angeles, and Jonathan Quick stopped 23 of 25 shots.
The game was played at the T-Mobile Arena, which will host Las Vegas’ expansion team beginning in 2017-18.
CANUCKS RALLY TO BEAT OILERS
In Edmonton, Alberta, Markus Grandlund scored the winner and added an assist, and the Vancouver Canucks overcame a slow start to close out their exhibition schedule with a 3-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers.
Brandon Sutter and Sven Baertschi also scored for the Canucks.
Benoit Pouliot and Connor McDavid scored for the Oilers, who had a three-game winning streak snapped.
Jacob Markstrom made 34 saves for the Canucks. Cam Talbot stopped 18 shots for Edmonton.
