FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) — A South Florida woman who is accused of practicing bad medicine is now facing the law after authorities raided her home, Tuesday morning.

According to police, Luz Angela Rios-Ossa invited patients into her home, while posing as a dentist. She is now being held at the Broward County Jail facing charges of operating a dental office illegally without a license.

Police raided the property along Southwest 49th Street in Davie. Neighbors said it was a full-scale operation. “A SWAT team, SWAT crime scene, an armored truck, a lot of guys with masks and helmets on,” said a neighbor.

After entering the home, officials found many items related with what could be found inside a dental office.

Rios-Ossa’s arrest comes less than a year, after her ex-husband was charged with a similar crime.

Last September her ex-husband, John Collazos, was arrested for running a phony dental office in Davie near Sate Road 7.

Collazos was arrested when a woman came forward claiming she had been inappropriately touched while in his chair.

Neighbors were shocked to hear this was happening again. “It’s life threatening actually. Yeah, you can catch an infection and die. If you’re not legally a dentist, that’s serious,” said neighbor Yami Rivera.

When Rios-Ossa was arrested her assistant Adriana Cecilia Rios was also taken into custody. However, it still remains unknown if she will or will not face charges.
