CHARLOTTE (WSVN) — An American Airlines pilot is being hailed a hero after he tackled a drunk passenger who allegedly attacked the flight crew and attendants on his airplane.

According to FOX 8, on July 21, a 25-year-old man named Michael Kerr was on a flight from Lexington, Kentucky to Charlotte, North Carolina when he allegedly ordered three whiskey drinks during the flight and then refused to sit down while the plane taxied to the gate.

That is when he allegedly threatened to break the flight attendant’s jaw, cursed at the flight crew, kicked an attendant, and even shoved one of the attendants to the floor.

Thankfully, the pilot and copilot were able to get Kerr onto the ground and restrained him with a belt strap — and the whole encounter was captured on cellphone video.

In the video, you can hear the pilot saying, “You don’t put your hands on my flight attendant.”
