The VCR is officially going out of production.
According to Japan’s Funai Electric, the device will go out of production at the end of July. The company first started producing the machines in 1983.
At one point, the company said they were selling up to 15 million VCRs a year. However, new technology like DVDs, Blu-Rays and online video streaming services have rendered them obsolete.
