CHICAGO (WSVN) — An honest Uber driver found a wallet filled with his passenger’s life’s savings and was determined to return the money.
According to WGN, the passenger, who didn’t speak English, arrived to Chicago O’Hare International Airport around 8 p.m. Monday night. His sister ordered the Uber for him after he landed.
Despite the language barrier, the Uber driver, Jose Figueroa, and the man connected and learned a bit about each other. WGN reported that the man moved to Chicago about a year ago after selling his business in the Ukraine.
After arriving to the man’s destination, Figueroa drove back to O’Hare. Although, Figueroa noticed a wallet on his back seat — a wallet with more than an ID and a couple bucks.
The wallet contained $3,000, which he later learned was the passenger’s life’s savings.
Figueroa was reportedly determined to return the money, not giving up when he couldn’t find the man where he dropped him off. He rang doorbells and knocked on doors before eventually finding the man and his sister. The man rewarded Figueroa with $100.
The driver shared his good deed on Facebook.
